Today after class, we roamed around historical Pompeii. This ancient city was covered in ash from the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD which preserved the colourful frescos and walls. It was interesting to hear that many of the ancient inventions, such as fast food and grid pattern city design, are still used today. Pompeii, and Rome in general, still have lasting effects today!
Since we are all professional walkers from Florence and Rome, we weren't even close to tired when we tackled Mt. Vesuvius! This volcano was no match for us. We climbed it in record time and rested amongst the breathtaking view of Naples.
Tomorrow, class and final day at the beach!
