Historical Venezia!

Today we travelled the Italian highways and the rails on our way north to Venice. We were in awe as soon as our eyes gazed upon the Venetian sights and sounds. People actually have to take a boat right to their doorstep to get in! The countless bridges, waterways, and colours were astonishing and the singing Gondoliers were exactly what we needed.

Venice truly exceeded our expectations!

We started our guided tour through Venice by exploring the extravagant palaces and richness of this historic city. There is so much history embedded into every step we took. Elaborate Franciscan churches, Venetian state archives, royal houses, ornate theatres, and fish and fruit markets were just some of our views on our way to the main event.  We thought it couldn’t get better until we finally arrived at Saint Mark’s Square! Although there were many tourists, it felt for a moment that we were alone.

Tomorrow, class and our visit to Pisa!
